Frozen tools

Frozen carrots, frozen Kongs with yogurt, frozen wet washcloths. Cold numbs gums and reduces inflammation.

Appropriate chews

Bully sticks (supervised), Yak chews, rubber Kongs. Avoid: rawhide, antlers, hard nylon (tooth fractures).

Chewing isn't optional

Take chewing away and the puppy will find something — your couch leg. Plan for 1+ hour of chewing daily.

Key takeaways

  • Cold soothes gums
  • Skip antlers/rawhide
