Manage the trigger
Frosted window film, white noise, blocked sight lines. Remove the trigger and you remove most of the barking instantly.
Thank-you protocol
Bark → calmly say 'thank you' → cue the dog to a mat → reward. After 50 reps, the bark becomes a notification that triggers the mat behavior.
Don't yell
Yelling sounds like joining in. Calm presence + redirection works; volume escalation never does.
